The Virgin and the Harlot: A Somatic Journey to Wholeness
Sarsha Hope
Join Sarsha Hope, women’s embodiment coach and founder of Somatic Dance International, for this transformative somatic dance workshop exclusively for women. Together, we’ll explore two archetypes that have been divided and distorted through centuries of patriarchy and colonization: the Virgin and the Harlot. These archetypes represent profound forces within the feminine psyche, yet they’ve long been positioned as opposites.
The Virgin often symbolizes purity, independence, and wholeness, while the Harlot embodies sensuality, freedom, and unapologetic self-expression. This separation creates an inner tension many women carry—feeling pressured to choose between being “good” or “wild,” conforming or rebelling, withholding or expressing.
Through this workshop, we’ll rewrite that narrative. Using somatic movement, embodiment practices, and guided inquiry, we’ll dive deep into the wisdom of our bodies. Together, we’ll reconnect with these archetypes, not as adversaries but as allies, reclaiming their unity. In this sacred space, we honor both the wildness and the innocence of our nature, celebrating their interconnectedness.
