Xiwico Temazcal
Andria Pablo
I am offering 3 runs of temazcal with limited capacity of 30 people per sweat. First one will be offer to women only at night time. Second one will be offer to anyone (all genders) and will be offer early in the morning. Third one will be offered for children and teenagers for free within a shorter period during midday. This to simply introduce the mexica cosmos vision of the world to young people.
We will be facilitating the sweat with a team of 5 of us to hold space for all involved. Each sweat will go for 3-4 hours, and will introduce participants to the 4 doors of the four directions in which we will journey for around 30 mins each with chanting and sharing of wisdom. At the end of each sweat we offer fruit and snacks to our participants to come back to their bodies and leave the sacred space safely.
Temazcal will need to be pre-booked and is additional to festival entry cost.
Xiuh Janiki Yollotlpactli (Andria Pablo – Mexico / Aotearoa) is a Mestizo mexica/alcolhua Temazcalli facilitator. She is a walker and a practitioner of Toltec wisdom. Following the teachings of Abuelita Tonalmitl from danza de la luna Xochimeztli in Mexico, Xiuh´s path is to weave decolonized indigenous practices from both Mexico and Aotearoa in order to bring back the element of well being into our communities.
Through the vision of xiwico, Xiuh shares her connections between Mexico and Aotearoa.
